Customer Test Market Panel
Wouldn't it be great if you had a group of customers who agreed to be on your Yearly Test Panel?  Every quarter they would be the ones who agreed to test market 1 or 2 new products that are introduced? If you take this responsibility seriously, they will too.

Start calling all of your customers to see if they would like to join your new product test panel. If they join, every quarter they will get to sample one or two of the new products for 10 days. At the end of the 10 days call them and ask them a few questions about the product. If they love it, they get to keep it for 20% off. If they don't love it, they can return it to you. (And you do a product replacement with the company). Either way YOU win because you are getting true customer testimony about the product that you can share with other potential customers. And what a bonus...if they love it, you have just gotten your customers on a new product. If these customers are only on the timewise, now they are going to broaden their MK horizons and keep trying new things. They will see how great ALL of our products are!

Here is what is required to implement this:
The customer must give you a check, which you will not cash, for 20% off of the product at the time you give her the product to sample.
When you call her in 10 days, she will either decide to keep the product or return it. If she wants to return the product, you can give back her check.
Why is this step important? Because the product replacement guarantee requires that the customer first purchase the product before it can be replaced by the company. Having her give you a check at the beginning of the test market assures you that you can have the product replaced. Also, it makes it easy for the customer to just say.."yes, I'll keep it!" And you can then just cash her check!

Here is my challenge to you. Call at least 15 of your customers to see if they would join your test panels. If they agree, start them on the  hydration products, microdermabrasion, and then the eye cream. Let me tell you how this will boost YOUR sales. Just say you have 10 customers agree to be on your test panel. Every quarter you will order at least 10 of each of the products you are going to give to your test panel. Let's just say it is the new eye cream which retails for $26, that's $260 in extra retail sales that quarter. What will this do to your Retail sales? I can tell you I know it will boost mine!! If the customer chooses to return it, you can select other items on the product replacement. You don't have to replace it with another eye cream. So you could place your reorder money into new products, use the test panel idea, and if it is returned, replace your inventory with regular items you normally sell.  HOWEVER, if they keep it, you have just broadened your reorder base.
