When You Come To The End Of Your Rope...
Tie a Knot and Hang On

by Mary Kay Ash

Press on. Nothing in this world will take the place of persistence.
Talent will not. Nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
=Genius will not. Unrewarded genius is almost a proverb..
=Education will not. The world is full of educated derelicts

Persistence and determination are omnipotent!

I’m fully convinced that the difference between successful and unsuccessful people simply is the extraordinary determination to forge ahead despite all obstacles and problems. Everybody has problems, only those who quit fail.

When you are inclined to quit, remember that Thomas Edison invented the light bulb only after 10,000 tries. Oscar Hammerstein produced a succession of flops before writing Oklahoma, the musical that ran for 2,244 performances on Broadway and revolutionized American theater.

And it’s hard to find a match for John Creasy, whose books have sold more than 60 million copies. But before anything he wrote was ever published he received 743 rejection slips. Now that’s perseverance!
Remember Winston Churchill’s famous speech? It had been so long awaited, and finally when he came to the podium his speech was simply "Never, never, never, never give up!"

It’s not so much what happens to us as how we react to what happens that makes the difference. Cultivate the happy side of life. Have you ever stopped to think about how, when something really bad happens to us, we later see that it really happened for the best? That’s so often true. So look for the silver lining in that cloud. It’s there!

Enter and live each day with a positive, expectant attitude and maintain that attitude even through difficulties. Visualize a year filled with accomplishments and the realization of your goals. Filling your mind with positive expectancy and focusing on what you plan to accomplish provide energy that multiplies when you
set a desired goal and work toward it.

The great American philosopher William James said, "Our belief at the beginning of a doubtful undertaking is the one thing that assures the successful outcome of any venture." When difficulties and obstacles come, tie a knot and hang on to your belief in yourself and your ability!
